Just a few days ago, the Province of Cadiz’ Firefighter Consortium signed a new Regulatory Agreement for the next three years.

This is a historical agreement since, for the first time since in its three decades of existence, it has been signed and supported by all three unions representing the brigade: CCOO, CSIF and SBC. The negotiations were carried out over a period of three months, the shortest time for this type of contract so far.

At the requests of the presidency, as well as trade unions and CBPC technicians, on this occasion counsillers and different political representatives of the various municipalities in the province were present throughout the negotiations – in this case, the councillors of Chiclana, Algeciras, Puerto de Santa María and Conil – all the signatories highlighted the common purpose of joining forces and efforts at all times, in pursuit of dialogue and consensus for the good of the service.

It also includes social improvements of public services, the system for taking leave and family-friendly conditions, among other issues.

All the signatories, advisers, technicians, trade unions and the management agreed on the common aim of conducting an open, transparent and participatory negotiation in which the three unions who want to defend the working conditions of their colleagues, took part.

The president of the CBPC, Francisco Vaca, wanted to thank “the positive, hardworking and receptive attitude of all unions, without exception, which has made it possible to reach a clear and good agreement for the staff.

Not to mention the CBPC technicians and the advisers of Algeciras, Chiclana, Puerto de Santa María and Conil, without whom it would have been impossible to sign this agreement.”

To conclude, Vaca expressed at this historic event and for “having participated in a negotiation that, in just three months, marked the shortest negotiation period in history of this Consortium and has allowed joint forces and efforts for the good of the service. Without a doubt, a historical achievement thanks to all those involved.”
